David Konate

About

David Konate is a 5’10 outside back and striker who hails from Ohio. Konate played for the Ohio Elite ECNL team. David was invited his senior year to play in Spain for FC Malaga City Academy for his gap year and played there the past 18 months now in the first division. Originally David was going to be with the second Division team. After a week of playing, he was dominating and got pulled up to the first team where he is a key defensive player for their program at outside back. David is very strong and athletic with crushing tackles, a good frame, and dominant in the air.
David switched clubs to Ud Ibiza this summer and just completed his first full season with them. He is wanting to come back to the US to play and graduate college. 

He can serve brilliant 40 to 50 yard diagonal balls to the forward or wing attacking down the far side flank hitting them accurately in stride. He has good shape and positioning knowing when to widen out to create space, and when to tuck in and provide cover and support. David has the technical skills to beat players off the dribble and get into the attack. He can score on set pieces when given the opportunity and has a wicked powerful shot. He is planning on returning to the states after his season wraps up and turning his attention to playing at the higher levels in the NCAA. Academically David graduated high school with a 2.98 GPA and scored a 22 on his ACT.
